Role:

Fieldstone x Starmark - A dual logo approach

MasterBrand Cabinets offers a wide range of cabinets for kitchens and bathrooms through various brands. Two of those sister brands, FieldStone and StarMark, needed a refresh to bring them both into an upscale visual identity. As the brands offer very similar products to different regions in the U.S. it was important to make them feel as if both logos were part of a set with a simple logo treatment, customized font, blended color palette, and shared brand identity visuals.

Starmark logo approach

The primary logo is built from mosaiced, pointed shapes that interlock to form a star, with an internal star emerging in the negative space. The arrangement reflects people gathering around a shared center to create meaningful moments. Its structure is intentional and symbolic, with eight points reaching outward and eight inward, a subtle nod to precision and customization down to the 1/16th of an inch.

Fieldstone logo approach

The sister logo follows the same intentional construction but replaces the pointed forms with stone-like shapes. These pieces speak directly to the brand’s name, emphasizing steadiness, durability, and products built to last. Here, the negative space forms a circular saw blade, grounding the mark firmly in woodworking and craftsmanship while giving the symbol its own distinct identity within the system.

A nature-inspired blended palette.

This blended palette was designed to be used across both brands. It grounds us in nature and evoke the reliable, enduring and refined quality of our business.

Every hue in this palette draws directly from the South Dakota wilderness, and each is named to honor the landscape that inspired it.

The palette was broken down in usage percentages for each brand with different primary and secondary colors across the palette. Starmark color usage is dedicated to the warmer more vibrant hues while the cooler hues are primarily featured in Fieldstone applications.

The ‘78 grid

Concepted from our origin year, we recommended a 7x8 modular grid system to help create consistency in layout across print and digital media. Though modular grids are common in cabinet design and layout, this uncommon grid number allows for a sense of exactness and beauty in layouts with a classic style.
